Standing there and seeing nothing?

  • verified. Transcribed from a primary source: a Blizzard post, patch note, or the game itself. This quest's markers are on 2 maps: Howling Fjord, Grizzly Hills.
  • practice. Convention among strong players. Widely followed, but it is not a rule and it can be wrong.Open your own quest log map. If the game draws no marker there, you are not in the phase for it, and that is definitive. Trust the game over us, and tell us in the comments so we can record it.

What To Do

Complete the quest objective shown in your tracker in Howling Fjord, then return to the turn-in NPC.

Quest Text

If you are to survive here, as we have, you must learn to face the environment's challenges head on. The elements will claim your life if you're not vigilant, as the proliferation of elementals in these northern hills shows. We must cull the elementals one last time before we can leave this place. Are you willing to aid us while we continue to make preparations? You must kill any iceshard elementals or howling cyclones you encounter in the snowy hills surrounding the outpost.

Field notes

Objectives and map pin

Blizzard's public API publishes a quest's text and rewards but not its objectives, its own level, whether it can be shared, or any map coordinate. Nobody has synced quest 11311 yet, so there is nothing to show here rather than a guess. Running the WowGodSync addon while you play contributes those fields for everyone.

Have I done this?

Check it in game

Quest completion is stored per character on Blizzard's side and is not in the public API, so paste this in your chat box and it prints true or false for “Suppressing the Elements” on the character you are logged into.

Completion check
/run print(C_QuestLog.IsQuestFlaggedCompleted(11311))
Warband-wide check (11.0+)
/run print(C_QuestLog.IsQuestFlaggedCompletedOnAccount(11311))

A false also comes back for a quest id the client does not know, so it means “not recorded as complete” rather than proof the quest exists on your account.
