Your private game data, under your control

Sync the parts of your WoW account the public APIs cannot see

Blizzard’s public API cannot see your client setup, local item links, bags, bank, or gold - so no website can show them without help from inside the game. WoW-God Sync creates a copy-paste snapshot you bring back here. It never sends anything on its own and asks for no login or password in game.

v1.9.1 · World of Warcraft: Midnight (12.1) · manual install in two steps (unzip, drag). No login or password ever asked in game.

Setup

  1. 1
    Download and unzip
Download the .zip above and unzip it. You get a folder named WowGodSync containing WowGodSync.toc, Performance.lua, ClientSnapshot.lua, Trainer.lua, ArenaHistory.lua, WorldObservations.lua, and WowGodSync.lua.
  2. 2
    Open your AddOns folder
Paste this into the Windows Explorer address bar, or in macOS Finder use Go › Go to Folder. If WoW is installed somewhere custom, it is <your WoW folder>/_retail_/Interface/AddOns.
    Windows
    C:\\Program Files (x86)\\World of Warcraft\\_retail_\\Interface\\AddOns
    macOS
    /Applications/World of Warcraft/_retail_/Interface/AddOns
  3. 3
    Drag the folder in
Move the whole WowGodSync folder into that AddOns folder. The result must be exactly Interface/AddOns/WowGodSync/WowGodSync.toc. If it ends up nested twice (WowGodSync/WowGodSync/...), move it up one level.
  4. 4
    Enable it
Fully close and reopen WoW (or type /reload if you are already logged in). At character select, click AddOns and make sure WoW-God Sync is checked. If it is missing from the list, tick Load out of date AddOns.
  5. 5
Open the in-game dashboard and export
Type /wowgod to open the WoW-God dashboard. It shows Sync, Keybind Trainer, live Speed/APM, and Arena History in one place. Click Export & Sync, then Select All (or press Ctrl+A) and Ctrl+C. Open your bank first if you want bank contents included. /wowgod export opens the export directly.
  6. 6
    Practice your imported layout
Type /wowgod train to open the in-game muscle-memory trainer. It reads the actions and bindings already on your eight action bars, then prompts you to press the matching key. Results are saved locally and included in your next export, so the browser trainer can continue from the same weak or slow actions.
  7. 7
    Measure movement and combat pace
The movable display shows current movement speed, raw input APM, and successful spell-action APM. Type /wowgod hud to hide or show it and /wowgod hud reset to restore its position. After combat, run /wowgod perf for input-to-cast timing. These are local response measurements, not a per-spell network-latency claim.
  8. 8
    Record an arena session
Arena tracking starts when the gates open and saves the supported scoreboard, damage, healing, rating change, APM, local distance traveled, speed, directional velocity, path, and jump-command count. Type /wowgod arena for the latest summary. Midnight does not expose hidden opponent positions or PvP combat-log events, so the path is your character only.
  9. 9
    Paste on the site
Paste into the sync panel above, then your bags, bank, currencies and gold appear under My Characters.

What it collects

  • · Every item in your bags (id, count, quality)
  • · Bank & reagent bank contents
  • · All currencies and their amounts
  • · Gold and equipped item level
  • · Professions and skill level
  • · Character, realm, region and faction
  • · Equipped item links, item level, stats, gems, enchants, bonuses and tooltip text
  • · Current bindings, macros, active talent nodes and enabled addons
  • · UI/action-bar and graphics CVars, including UI scale and effective screen size
  • · Collected mounts, battle pets and completed achievements
  • · NPC quest offers, turn-ins, merchant prices and item drops you encounter
  • · Private per-key and per-spell combat response aggregates
  • · Input APM and successful-action APM per combat sample
  • · In-game and browser keybind-practice results, including response time
  • · Your arena scoreboard, rating change, damage and healing
  • · Local arena movement: distance, speed, direction, path and jump commands

Privacy: the addon reads only your own character and writes a local export string. It makes no network connections. Combat data is aggregate timing and counts, not key-by-key text history. Public game observations contain NPC, quest, item and currency facts only - never chat or nearby-player coordinates. Arena history can contain scoreboard player names and your own relative path inside that match; it does not collect hidden opponent locations. Data is stored on wow-god.com only when you paste and sync it while signed in.

What an addon cannot collect

WoW addons run inside Blizzard’s sandbox. They cannot read your drive, other addons’ saved-variable files, chat from before the addon loaded, or CombatLog.txt. Guild-bank and owned-auction data also require a separate scan while those game windows are open. Ratings, Mythic+ history, raid progression, housing collections, and account-wide data are better verified through Blizzard account APIs after Battle.net login. We keep those as separate, visible sync sources instead of pretending the addon can see them.

For combat-log files, use WoW’s /combatlog command and import the resulting file through a future desktop companion. The addon never reads or uploads that file.

Troubleshooting

WoW-God Sync is not in the AddOns list
Confirm the path is exactly Interface/AddOns/WowGodSync/WowGodSync.toc (not nested twice), then tick Load out of date AddOns on the AddOns screen.
Nothing happens when I type /wowgod
The addon is installed but not enabled. Enable WoW-God Sync in the AddOns list and run /reload.
My bank is empty in the export
Bank contents can only be read while the bank window is open. Visit a banker once, then run /wowgod again. Bags, gold and currencies are always captured.

GuildHours

Adds a column to the guild roster showing how long each member has been seen online since the weekly reset. World of Warcraft does not expose a member’s playtime, so the addon samples the roster while you are logged in and reports the minutes it actually saw: always a lower bound, and by an amount that depends on how much your schedule overlaps theirs. Useful for “who have I seen this week”, not for judging attendance.
